Outside lights on Ford F-150

Is there a way to turn off all of the outside lights when you unlock the truck. I have a 2018 f150. It is annoying when at a campsite and I want to unlock the truck.

Call a dealer and ask them if they will put your truck into "police mode" it turns off all interior and exterior lights when unlocking and opening the door.

Problem is, its all the time so you're gonna be getting into a dark truck forever.
I dont know of a temp fix or internal setting. Sorry

Do all the lights come on if you DON’T use your key fob?

There should be a way to turn off the approach lights (which are any lights that turn on upon unlock) so they don't come on when you unlock with the FOB. At least there has been on every recent vehicle I've looked at.

I know with a program called forscan you can do a lot to your ford truck. I have not used it personally.

You might want to search or ask about it here:

I believe you can do this. The easy to use program is called FORSCAN. There is a feature that can be enabled called "Police Dark Car". I haven't made this change but have made a number of others on three different trucks. To use the program you need a Windows computer that has a USB connector, laptop preferred, and one of several OBD adapters. The adapters cost ~$50. Program and temporary (renewable) license are free.

Instructions on how to use the program, exact settings for many behaviors, and a tutorial showing use is available on the first post in this very long thread (24,000+ posts): https://www.f150forum.com/f118/forsc...ispreloading=1

The above thread also has users who will give assistance and answer questions. Program can also be used to change features on other Ford vehicles, though I don't have links to get settings for other than the F150. The thread above is for 2015-2020 trucks, there are similar threads for the 2021 and pre-2015.

One critical recommendation - as specified in the tutorial, BEFORE making any changes to your truck, make a backup of ALL of the module settings.

The program and adapter are also useful for diagnosing issues with your truck. It can read and reset diagnostic codes (dtc's).

Forscan is really nice. I used it to activate the remote start and parking lights as daytime running lights on my 2014 f150.
