Payload capacity

I have a 99 silverado which pre dates the yellow ccc sticker in the drivers door jamb. How do you determine payload capacity of older trucks? My owners manual only indicates max tow capability not payload.

You should have a white sticker that has the vin build date on it.

It will list the gvwr.

Go weigh the truck. Then, bobs your uncle.
