I came across this today. Had to take a pic of it.

It appears to be a goose neck hitch. It appears it is connected to a 5th wheel in the picture. I just don't know what the exposed ball is for? Perhaps an adjustable hitch to move it forward or back if necessary? 3 position ball location???
I googled "High Ball Hitches" but came up empty with a company.

Well...I found out a little more about this hitch. It was made locally...
...in my garage, actually!
I stuck the decals on as a goof. I have since taken them off...

Aha! Wow, that is quite a hitch. I have no idea about how it is compared to a brand name hitch, but I'm in awe of you being able to even make something like that. Weld on!

You said you invented this because you 'had' to... why couldn't you use any other kind of conventional 5th wheel hitch?

Well, just based on the first picture you posted of this, I couldn’t work out what was what and I was focusing on that ball that isn’t connected to anything and it just seemed to me that if a lot of weight was placed onto that ball, the plate it is attached to might fail.
Now that you have posted all of the pictures in your other thread I have a better understanding (I think), so my original comment is most likely not the case.

Pretty sure the structural guy from the frame manufacturer would be concerned about the length of this fatiguing the connection to the frame.
Very heavy thing as well.
I kind of like the Anderson better. It has the designed by a professional stamp on it.

I certainly don't have any measurements but from the side photos, it appears to be SHORTER than a regular pin box. I don't know that ingenuity needs some kind of "professional" stamp of approval.
If length is your hang-up... doesn't having the adapter of an Andersen with the ball coupler in the forward position, essentially make it a longer lever on the pin box? Are you not concerned about fatiguing the frame just because it says Andersen on it?

Yeah...I used cold rolled steel (vs. hot rolled steel) for the ball plate.
CRS is 20% stronger than HRS.

Do you have any idea what you're taking about? First of all, the center of the hitch point is exactly what it was before.
The weight is actually less because of the fact that the original goose neck adapter is removed, along with some of the original pin box.
The Anderson Ultimate doesn't pull from the ideal pull point. It is offset to the rear of the axle. While people don't cite any issues with it, it's not ideal when you tow from behind the rear axle.
Plus, my overall goal was to create bed rail-to-overhang clearance. The Anderson hitch wouldn't work, even if I wanted it to.
