Picked up a 2011 F150 Ecoboost
... With just 5000 miles on it!!!
It's replacing a 2012Nissan Frontier. The Fronty was "just enough," in my opinion, to tow our TT. But sometimes, like hilly areas, just enough wasn't really enough.
I have a lot more confidence in this truck, and it is a whole lot nicer. I can't wait to hook it up and get camping!!!

I love the color. I would have gotten it if they had it the year I purchased. You're going to be really impressed when you get in the hills. Enjoy!

So far, I'm getting 19 mpg, which is about the same as the Frontier.

Ahhh... I got you now. Everything I have ever towed with has gotten around 11 mpg, except back in the pop up/minivan days. Then I could swing 13-14 mpg.

With our 2013 pulling a Wildcat @ 10k we get 9.1-10 running from 60-65.

Nice Truck!! Good deal as well, only 5,000 miles. I tow 9500 lbs of 5er and do get 10mpg at 55 mph on 2 lane highways. With a headwind it will drop of course but what vehicle doesn't when it meets these obstacles.
Average unloaded around town 16 mpg with some 55 roads back and forth to work.
It is not as bad as some have stated. Enjoy the torque when towing. I can beat my brother inlay with a heavier trailer from dead stop vs his Chevy 2500.

I'm curious to know the experience of those that are saying it is a pig for mileage? Like I stated, I've towed about 7k miles with mine. On a 6k mile trip through the desert, rockies, winds of the midwest, I averaged 11.5mpg (62mph). More than pleased. I'm also getting 18.9mpg for my work commute when unloaded.
Could I drive it in a way that eats gas? SURE! That option button is right on the floor under my foot.

Maybe the 36 gallon fuel tank we have takes longer to fill.
Nice truck!

Lol. They all have their good points/bad points. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't do anything different. Love my F250!

Good Luck and hope you enjoy. I have the 2011 fx4 3.5 eco boost and yes it had juice, but man I had issues and plenty of discussions with Fords, until they finally agreed timing was messed with constant lunges. New timing chain, new phaser's, basically rebuilt motor thank heaven warranty covered. The 2011 was the first year for the eco boost hope things work out for you as not all are bad... My new all aluminum 2015 on order currently in transit (on cotsub ford tracking) but with the 5 litre V8 all loaded up for towing. Fuel consumption, like I tell anyone that asks me, if you worry about gas mileage don't buy a truck and certainly don't pull a trailer

I get 18 to 19 mpg in my regular driving. 9 to 10 towing my old camper. Got 8.9 mpg bringing my new trailer home from Michigan to Maryland and that was a lot of hills. Truck did fantastic. You will be very pleased with it, especially when pulling a grade. That eco boost is the shiz nit.

Gripper. I'm surprised you are going to the 5.0. Is it because of the problems you had with you Eco boost? With my experience with my 2013 I don't think I would ever go back to a regular gas engine again.

We tow a 2012 8280WS fifth wheel (in the 9000 lb category) with a 2013 F150 with a V8. Currently I am getting 10.8 miles per gallon. With an ecoboost you should get at least the same or possibly a little better. Now I did pull a trailer (2012 32 ft Rockwood signature ultra lite) last year and my mileage was just under 9.6 mpg.

Love my Ecoboost but I'm only getting 9.5mpg towing, 17 mpg max non-towing. Usually it's around 14-15mpg w/o my rig in the back.
