Please help identify this hitch...

Just got a 2015 Flagstaff Microlite and this hitch came with it. I was wondering if it is anti-sway ? Anybody know the make and model ?

Thanks MIke

You could add a sway bar attachment to the left or right holes. Do you have the load level or bars?

It looks like a Curt hitch or a Harbor Freight 10,000-lb hitch. Don’t laugh, I ran the HF hitch for many years and many miles.
Either can be equipped with the adjustable friction sway control.

Hi, it did come with the bars, they are quite heavy duty. Any idea of the make and model? Do you have an example of a quality sway controller? Does it affect turning radius?

Thanks Mike

The Curt version. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the same.

And the Harbor Freight version.

To answer your question about turning radius, it can affect backing up in a tight angle. Forward turns should not be an issue if it's properly installed.

Great, Thanks for All the replys !! How well do those friction sway controls work ? In the past I had a Blue ox with built in sway control that worked quite well , but hopefully I can use the one that came with the trailer ( And its free ! ) Will also be replacing the Akuret tires ...look like balloons ready to pop...

Thanks MIke

The bars should be marked as to what rating they are. If you set-up your hitch correctly, and observe your weights and balance when loading, you won't need the sway control. Most of them are garbage to start with.

Is that the fictional brochure dry tongue weight or the actual scaled tongue weight?

The friction control works quite well, in my opinion. I used my Harbor Freight hitch and sway control for 10 years and about 8000 miles, on three different toy haulers.
Your hitch is probably the 10,000-lb version.
FYI, my last Work And Play toy hauler had an empty tongue weight of 800 lbs. The HF 10k-lb hitch and sway control worked better than the Husky Centerline I bought for our Mini Lite 2205S.

Carrying Capacity (lbs / kg)
943 / 427.7

Hitch Weight (lbs / kg)

And you believed the dealer?[emoji32]
I am also confused.
Your post says you have a 2015 Flagstaff Microlite, but no model number.
But your profile says a 2013 Rockwood 2109S.
Which is it and if it's the Flagstaff, which model number?

I'm still running that version of WDH from Harbor Freight without the sway control add-on. No issues with sway. I have a 26ft 5,200 lb trailer with about 600 lbs tongue weight. If you decide to go with the sway control add-on, make sure you disconnect it before backing into any type of spot where you might make a tight turn. The weight distribution bars will be OK so long as you have the minimum number of chain links (5), and they are completely vertical when the tow vehicle and trailer are in a straight line.

Yup, I've talked with a lot of trailer owners that have the bars pulled up on the second or third link and wonder why the brackets move or the bars hit the frame. Head angle and ball height are the keys to having a wdh that works.
I used the sway control because a number of other factors ( high mileage truck, tire sidewall flex, short wheelbase, trailer's wind profile) contributed to some sway. The sway control worked well and was way cheaper than buying a new truck.
Honestly, I'm so disappointed in this Husky Centerline Hitch's "sway control", I'm ready to go back to the HF hitch.

If the bars have chains then the hitch doesn’t have sway control ability. I used a single sway bar on my big bumper pull Forest river Vibe 32B 39ft long. 1,050 lb tongue weight and weighing 8,900lbs. It worked well. I have since acquired a Fastway e2 hitch with 1,000 lb bars. Big improvement.

That is not true. The additional sway control is an add-on friction bar that connects to the auxiliary balls pictured in post #5. If the add-on friction bar is installed, there is extra sway control added to the hitch. It has nothing to do with whether the weight distribution bars have chains or not. The sway control components are highlighted below:
