Ernestmiller... How are you getting that good of gas mileage pulling over 8,000lbs? That is incredible. I can't even get 14 not pulling anything. I avg 10-12mpg pulling around 6,000lbs

8327SS pulled with a 06 F350 6.0 diesel. Headed home tomorrow from a 4k mile trip from Dallas, to Colorado Spinga to Wyoming, Montana, back to Salt Lake, New Mexico West Texas. Been a awesome trip! Btw I raised the nose of the camper before me left :-). Pulled like a dream. 10-12 mpg depending on terrain and speed.

Yes Yellowstone was very crowded. One article said attendance is up 25% this year over last. Get there early in the morning and getting through the gates is easier. Also construction on the road headed between Norris and Mammoth Springs was nuts. We set for over a half hour... The park moves slow to plan to take your time. We loved it though!

Have you been on the scales yet? From the looks of things, I'd say you're a tad overweight. Maybe I didn't read the specs right on that trailer though.

Hey, you're pretty good. Just by looking at a picture you can tell if someone is overweight.
Tell me, is my rig overweight?

Pretty sure you're good! But thanks for being a smart ass!!! Look up the specs on that trailer posted up. It has a GVWR of over 14,000 lbs. it's dry weight is 10,000 lbs. the dry pin weight is 1,766 lbs. that is a 1/2 ton pickup. The carrying capacity is probably only about 1,500 lbs. the towing capacity is definitely less than 10,000 lbs, most likely being around 8,000 lbs. So yeah, he is overweight. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that!!!!

Just picked it up today. An hour from home in the NE Ga mountains; very happy with the tow. 2306 is a very good layout for us, Click image for larger version

It might pull it sort of ok now, but if you load it a little nose heavy and hit a good bump it could shear an axle or break a rim and leave you and your family in a world of hurt. There is a big difference between carrying 2500 pounds of firewood and a 30 foot RV when you hit a big bump or dip (especially when you are almost bottomed out already) because the mass moment of inertia of the RV is really high as your truck tries to make it rotate around the trailers axles. This might be a good time to look at a bigger truck.

I have regular heated discussions on here with the weight police- but that 356 is too much for a half ton. Even an F150 HD with a much stronger axle and rear suspension than that 1500 would be questionable.

Congrats FrontierRookie. Nice looking trailer. We have the Flagstaff sister 23lb. Enjoy. Great layout for a small space.
