Early morning breakfast stop on the pass between Ellensburg and Yakima. We were on our way to two weeks on the Oregon Coast.

The Xterra pulls the trailer pretty well, I have to take my time going up the mountain passes, and time them so I'm not stressing the X pulling up a pass in the afternoon heat. We have done pretty well by her. Towing aside the Xterra is about the best off-road vehicle I've owned. She has a ton of power, a rear locker, and does pretty much what we ask of her.

Nice setup! I tow with a similar vehicle. A Frontier Pro-4X. Gets the job done with a little patience in the mountains, as you said. Enjoy!

Nice looking setup !! And I like the username.

Have you dialed in the WDH properly ?? Looks like the back of the truck is sagging a bit, but it might just be the angle of the photo.

Just got back from a 2600 mile camp-out. We departed Austin, stopped one night in Texarkana, then on to Branson for a week. Lots of good times there at Pass Port rates. Then on to Maryville, Mo where we spend 3 days at Mozingo Lake before going to Shenandoah, IA for five days. Wife got to see her kids, her brothers and have a great time with family.
Then a stop in Witchia, KS and at Winstar Casino before getting home in Austin.

Our F150 has the 5L and 6 spd transmission. Most of the time it does pretty good at 10.5 mpg. We do have to disengage the cruise control sometimes especially in hilly country. This set up gets us better mpg than the motor homes we've had.

Thumbs up

Our F150 has the 5L with 6 spd transmission. Does a great job for us and averages 10.5 mpg towing.
