Glad I could help. The pin weight on my trailer is 2830. It squats the truck a little, but overall rides pretty level (truck AND trailer). Now, I don't have anything to compare to, as this is my first RV trailer AND my first 3/4ton diesel. All I can say is that it is not near as bad as I THOUGHT it would be. I have driven on Interstates (I-35 & I-20..around DFW) and I have driven on backroads. I'm slower than most of the traffic (I stayed around 60-65), but I just cruised on down the road. I haven't been in any "hairy" situations yet, so......

Dry pin weight is 2830 your loaded ready to camp pin weight is probably 3600 to 3800 lbs maybe more. Your payload on your 3/4 ton is probably less than 2400 lbs. That means you over your GVWR and Axle Ratings and probably over you tire ratings also. Check your yellow payload tag on your door jam for your payload of YOUR truck. You might want to scale it and see where you at but you are way over your payload ratings. That 5er would probably be over the spec of 1 ton diesel truck also.

Here is how to match your truck to RV.

Matching Trucks to Trailers
I appreciate your feedback. I posted this on a diesel forum, yesterday (see below). I was, already, thinking along the same lines......I'm not so stubborn that I won't listen to the voice of experience (you guys).......I am a little quick on the trigger, sometimes though....

"Mine says 2189......whoops... Honestly, I did too little research before buying everything. Even though I have had no issues with pulling that trailer.....the numbers do bother me a little. Im sure that a DRW is in my not-too-distant future....As much as I hate to admit it.....I have learned more after those two purchases (just about Tow Vehicles & Trailers, in general), than before.....meh. Bottom line...I don't feel unsafe/unstable pulling the 5er (I'm not saying that I am not), but I would like that peace of mind, from the numbers."

Also, we will be living in this for 6-10mths (stationary) while building our house, so that gives me plenty of time to upgrade my truck.

37' Cedarcreek 34re pulled by a 2015 RAM 2500 with the HEMI 6.4L. Love the truck and trailer. Wish I got better than 9mpg. This was the start of a Yellowstone trip last summer.

This is at the top of Highway 12 in Utah this spring. Last winter storm of the year caught us as we were approaching the summit. Made for a beautiful pic

Not towing, but:

It's a bad day when you get your wiener stuck in a snow bank!

Enjoy. I started with a Mini Lite 2502ks. Great little rig. Had no real problems to speak of. Only traded it for our 5er so we had more room for longer journeys.

Thats a lot of truck for such a small trailer....

Just kidding of course. My buddy's trans blew up about 40 miles from home so I towed this thing back for him. Not a huge trailer, but a monster for my little pickup. White knuckles all the way home. Grateful for empty roads in my rural area.

Thanks Crusader

Hemi does just fine. I am at the top of its towing capacity. Bought the size trailer to match it since we had bought the truck a year earlier when we had a smaller travel trailer. The guys with diesels will definitely win a race with all the extra torque they have but I get there just fine. Would like to maybe trade up to a diesel down the road when we start doing more full time RV'ing. I'm still working so we do more local shorter trips.
