What engine do you have in your Durango? Just purchased a 2014 with V6 and interested in towing a small RV when I go the TNF by myself .

We have the 5.7L V8 Hemi in it. It does an excellent job with the hybrid. The hybrid we are towing has a gvwr 6800 lbs but we are at 6200 lbs loaded for camping, so 1000 lbs under our tow capacity. Our hitch weight is 640 lbs, so we have around 600 lbs of cargo capacity in the Durango; we only have people in the car.
With the V6, you should look for a camper that has a gvwr under 6000 lbs. (And I think the shorter the better, I wanted to stay under 25 feet long).

Thanks for the information. I have been looking at 16' Coleman campers, basically a portable man cave. Really don't want to use my dually to tow this so trying to find something small the Durango can handle.

Thank you for your nice response. We also enjoy our RV trips a lot. wife plus one an a half year old Twins....heading next week to GA, Savannah, Helen and Atlanta for 10 days.
Distribution weight bar installed, and always traveling between 50 and 60 mph, depending on road and traffic, no rush. I rely on my traverse and more than 1k miles on the TT without any incident. Thanks again for your advice and enjoy your trips.

alot of people will tell you to just use that dually as that is the only proper towing vehicle LOL. sounds like you are looking in the right type of camper -

Wow how some throw caution to the wind when it comes to towing weights and limits and pictures to prove it.

Yep, the Tundra is a fine truck, but it isn't that fine.

Have you had problems with your big slide jumping as you first open the slide.
Mine will jump sometimes as you first open the slide & the whole trailer shakes.
