2015 F250 Lariat 6.2l with 3.73 gears hooked up to our new 2018 8528RKWS. Timbrens, and Torklift StableLoad on the rear to help eliminate some of the rear squat. B&W gooseneck hitch and Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch to connect it to the truck. Before picking up the 5ver, I had made plans to have the gears swapped to 4.30's, but after towing the new 9500lb loaded 5ver on three trips totalling 1300 miles here between Georgia, Florida, and the Alabama Gulf Coast, this mod was not necessary.

Fixed
I went back to the dealer Saturday after I looked into the hitch the recommended 600# hitch with 6000# trailer and numbers from the dealer put me at 615# hitch and 6615# trailer. I said that was too close for comfort. They changed out the 600#/6000# with a 1000#/10000# but the guy stressed this will be a lot rougher of a ride with the larger bars and also said the manufacturer says the bars are 600# but they can do 800#. Yeah that is the safety factor DUH. I told him NO give me the larger ones and I will deal with the rougher ride. I drove it 10-15 miles home over some rough roads and it road great! Below is the before and after pictures, yes they could have adjusted the hitch on the first one but still over what the manufacturer recommends.

If you move to a bigger trailer you will have the hitch to handle it.

I got the same song and dance from my dealer's tech. I had two sets of bars from earlier trailers I owned. Took both with me for the initial setup when I bought last trailer. Tech told me the 750# bars would be more than enough. His logic was that only 10% of the TT weight sat on the hitch and there was no way I'd have 750# with the new trailer.
Towed home with the 750# bars and promptly put them in storage. Cleaned up the 1,000# bars and everything leveled right out. Ride improved with less porpoising.
The "After" picture looks great.
BTW, WDH spring bars are like shoes. You really need to try them on to see which one fits best. The real "fit" comes after you tow the unit home and load it up. Both TT and TV.

Home after 4 days at Navajo Lake. Got a nice 11.7 mpg on the way back. Gave her a bath at storage.

Fixing to head out on it's first trip. I'm 23' on the truck and 34' on the trailer. Previous camper was a few feet shorter.

Hitched up and ready to head out from Williams, AZ. This was a few days ago, we're heading out from SLC today and heading to Yellowstone. Woo!

At the top of Beartooth Summit heading out from Yellowstone's Northeast entrance. This was probably the best drive of the trip so far, I love the NW area of Yellowstone and the mountains around it.
The drive down the north side was a bit twisty. haha
