I just got a nee GMC Sierra 6.2L with max trailering package. I am going to pull same camper in 2 weeks up Black Mountain on I-40 in NC which I have done a few times with the 5.3L I will see what the extra 100 foot pounds of torque do for me.

I was running the Ecoboost in our 2016 with max tow. it got shoved around on hill bottoms like a red haired stepchild on the playground... not any more..
sometimes safety outweighs what I think I can do.

Looks good. From McMinnville you don't have to drive very far to find some good camp spots. You're practically already camping!

Yep! And we already live in the woods so it's almost like camping every night! Too bad there is a never ending list of projects to do so we have to get away or all we do is work.

New TV 2016 GMC Sierra 6.2L with max trailering option.
I dis measure my receiver on old truck versus new and new was one inch higher. So one weekend I decided to drop ball 1” for new truck. Well with bolt holes I had to drop 1.5” and remove some tilt to get it close to one inch. I figured with new truck I would not need much tilt since rated for 11,700lbs and my TT is at about 7,000lbs loaded. I was kind of worried as iI did have a 80 mile camp trip scheduled soon. My driveway is not level so I could not adjust there. I took a chance and hooked up early in case I needed to add some tilt. Here are some measurements from ground to bottom of bottom of fender
Start unloaded back 37 1/4” front 36 1/4”
Loaded with trailer no weight bars back 35 3/4” front 36 3/4”
Loaded with weight bars parallel to frame and 3 links hanging back 36” front 36 1/2” I decide this was close enough for 80 mile trip.
When I pulled out of driveway and stopped to put anit-sway bar on I put a level on frame and to my surprise TT was level. Whoomp Whoomp!
I did notice a difference between my old TV 2015 GMC Sierra with a 5.3L and no trailer package. The DW want to how it pulled so she took a turn for about 8 miles. She says wow there is allot to keep thinking about. Next test Black Mountain Grade on I-40 West and why is there so many big rigs today. Well the 6.2L 8 speed tranny had a big difference over the 5.3L 6 speed. Over all very happy. Here is a pic after I pulled out of the driveway
Long post, I hope most enjoy
