Just got back from a quick few days trip up on the Mogollon Rim in Northern AZ. After 8 days of my wife’s work conference we needed some decompression time.

Thanks Lenny. We do a lot of boondocking. In fact this year is the first year we have actually stayed at an RV Park now that we are traveling the country with the kids archery tournaments. Always love pulling up into the pines of Northern AZ.

We weren’t able to stay in our usual spot because of fires but this one worked out well. It’s a good hour long drive back in from the highway and traffic is virtually none to deal with.

So I felt I should provide an update to ensure others have the right info.
Went on a adventure. Set out on a beautiful sunny day with a stiff cross wind (37 km/h steady gusting to 51). It swayed like crazy. Thought it was a weight issue(had some extra stuff to transport) so we moved some things around. Made it to our site and camped.
Left our site for another adventure with similar conditions. 6 lane highways and lots of traffic this time. Sway was still there. Followed some others and they were also being moved around. During the drive we contemplated potential issues. Torsion bars are not parallel to the trailer frame. The friction points showed galling and bluing (heat). Was using Lucas heavy duty bearing grease.
Went back to the drawing board before leaving the second site. (Lots of risk, being a long way from home). I moved the L brackets down a hole location and this reduced the torsion on the bars and made them parallel with the frame. Applied synthetic grease. Front measurement went to 27.5”. Sway is gone and worked much better for the ride home. No signs of heat.
Talked with DW and will be looking at a Hensley or Pro Pride in the near future.

This is our rig, first TT at age 70. It's just the right size for the two of us, easy to maintain and keep clean.

Never thought I would like camping as I was gone for work so much. Wish I had done this years ago. We have had it about 18 months and will soon start on our tenth outing.

We hope to do many more trips next year, too much "life" got in the way this year and we didn't have the time.
