Pulling a utility trailer behind my 5th wheel

I have a motorcycle and now a golf cart and have seen other RV'ers with 5th wheels towing a utility trailer behind it. I am considering an enclosed utility trailer approc 6 X 12 added to my Forest River Serra. I have the vehicle power to pull it. Would appreciate any assistance before I do so.

First of all, check state and Local laws. Some states allow it, some local laws only on expressway. Also seems like an expensive pain to me. You may be required brakes on the tag trailer, so camper wiring will have to modified, and you may need a new brake controller to handle the extra axles. Must pull in camp ground, unhook tag trailer, park camper, unhook truck, hook up tag trailer, move it to parking spot, then unhook tag trailer. Also if you can't move the tag trailer by hand, going to have to back camper to tag trailer to hook up. Have you thought about just trading the camper for a toy hauler?

Windrider makes many good points. Think about the logistics of pulling into a gas station to fill up, I have a hard enough time with my 20' boat behind our rig. As stated above the hassle of what to do with the trailer when you get where you are going.

And, you may never plan on coming to the northwest but it's illegal here in Washington and I am sure there are several other states where it's not allowed. I would seriously be looking into a toy hauler for what you want to do.

Just my $.02 worth....

Both answers provided me with an easy decision. I agree, not worth the extra effort at all. Thank you both very much and have a great week-end!
