Question about 7-way connector on motorhome

I tow a 2020 Jeep Cherokee behind my 2017 Coachmen Prism. On my last trip I managed to fatally damage the umbilical cable that runs between the motorhome and the toad. I ordered a replacement cable off amazon, but the 7-way connector on the new cable is slightly different than the one I'm replacing, to wit, the new cable has nothing but an empty hole in the center position of the connector (the new one is the red one in the attached thumbnail).

I think that the center pin is for backup lights, and I never back up when the toad is hooked up so it would seem that I don't really need it. Can anyone confirm that this new cable is an acceptable replacement for the old one?

Thanks in advance

You are correct! In most RV wiring diagrams that center pin is for the back up lights

Many applications don't use the center position and those that do use it for various applications not just backup lights. Plug it in and test all the lights if all work you are good to go.
