Question for Ram 2500 owners with fifth wheels

I installed a level kit on the front of my 2018 2500 Cummins. The rear was lower due to the fact that I have factory airbags. So I purchased slightly longer suspension links to add an inch to the rear. Truck is level. Now looking at the wheel well space, I would like to add 35" tires to enhance the look. Does anyone here have a similar setup? Does your fifth wheel sit level when hooked up or did you have to spend some money to lift the RV a little? Will start shopping for a fifth wheel soon and this just came across my mind and really want to know. Thanks.

Short answer... you will have to lift the 5th wheel. I have a '15 2500 and a '17 toy hauler and both are factory height. My 5th wheel has to be nose high just so the bed doesn't hit coming in and out of my driveway.

Stock 2018 2500, 5th wheel is nose high. I've dragged it around for thousands of miles, no issue yet. I keep an eye on the tires with tpms.

Update, installed 35" tires today. Truck looks great but definitely higher. Afraid I will have to life the trailer a few inches when the time comes. Thanks for the info guys. Don't have a fifth wheel yet but nice to know what to expect when the time comes.

I was told by the mechanics at the dealership that your speed and mileage mileage will need to be recalibrated. Also it lowers your tow capabilities with larger tires.

Exactly, and if he has 3:42 gears a lot of his torque just went out the window also.

I was able to adjust tire size for computer using the Alpha obd software. I will need to tweek it a little more as my truck is going 2mph faster than what the Garmin gps says. The tire size I went with were Yokahoma Geolander A XT in the 295-65-20 size on the factory Longhorn wheels. Smooth riding, noise is barely audible. Huge improvement over the factory Transforce that were stock, not to mention a stupid shimmy from the tires that the dealers all swear are either normal, not that bad, or could not duplicate. Heavy duty tires as they can carry 4k weight per tire. Top of my tailgate to ground is 59", so no different than what I am reading with others with RAM HD and Ford Super Duty owners. I will see what happens when I actually get a fifth wheel picked up, for now my bumper pull tows just fine.

I do have the 3.42, can't tell if I lost any significant torque but fuel mileage is still hovering 17-19mpg during my commute. I expected to loose a little so no worries there.
