Ram 1500 TV with XLR Micro Boost 25LRLE

I have a 2020 RAM 1500 4x4 CC SB and will be picking up a new XLR micro boost TH 25lrle, it has a dry weight of 5k and dry tongue of 850. My truck payload is 1575. I will be towing with a blue ox sway pro 1000 or possibly a 1500. I will keep the TV as light as possible with all cargo in the hauler and my guess is I won't exceed 1500 lbs of total cargo (won't tow water full) In the TV will be myself and wife plus dog ....330lbs. I think the numbers work as long as I do not overload the truck. Anyone, please feel free to comment as I really like the truck but if a 2500 is needed then.........

Well, your issue will be loaded tongue weight.
The fictional dry tongue weight is 850lbs. That's without batteries, factory options, dealer add-ons, water and cargo. Once you add the weights of those and your 330lbs, you have a good chance to exceed your truck's 1575lbs of payload.

You will likely be well over 1,0000 lbs tounge weight once loaded up. I suggest you weigh your truck to get an accurate payload remaining then subtract 100lbs for your hitch. What is your receiver rated at and what toy(s) will you be hauling?

I suspect with the hitch dialed in you will be fine, if if your numbers are a little over.

Relax and enjoy. Having said that you pretty much hit the mark I'd be most comfortable with. The keyword is comfortable. Enjoy. Just don't overdo it with the cargo in the trailer or truck.

You’ll be fine Glenn, I pull a littler bit larger TT with a 2011 Ram 1500. Just have a good WDH and keep the load in the truck to a minimum. Maybe get a set of airbags is they didn’t come stock. Contrary to what the ram haters say, they pull great.

You will be fine I pull mine with the Ford F150, just finished a cross Canada trip, Have the equalizer hitch , like driving a school bus. We had nasty weather along the Great Lakes, blew the mudflaps off.

You might find the back end of the truck a little bouncy and unstable side to side with the stock tires. Upgrading to a truck tire with a better load rating than the passenger car rated tires that come on the Rams will help too.
Someone else mentioned airbags, I have them in the back of my 1500. Those along with ungraded tires made all the difference in my towing experience.

I Think you'll be fine . from your numbers fully loaded you should be around 8500 lbs max . 10% of that is 850 better at 12% your at 1020 you be close to your payload but i'm sure under your tow weight limit for the truck . your in 1/2 ton range no problem and doubt you load 3500 lbs of stuff ..

Your XLR factory numbers are similar to my MiniLite, as is your Ram. As some have stated, you won’t see those numbers in reality. My actual tongue weight the 2 times I went to CAT scale came in between 950-1050 (depending on what I loaded for the trip). With my original wdh, I experienced porpoising and some sway. I replaced with an Equalizer and that all went away. Very stable and comfortable ride. I also added air bags, but mainly for those trips to the nursery for landscape materials. It did help with what little squat I had after the Equalizer. Set up your wdh properly, and load TT and TV appropriately and you’ll be okay.
