RAM Hemi Exhaust Manifold Leak Diagnosis and Repair

My 14 RAM with the 5.7L Hemi started making a terrible ticking noise at cold start at about 60,000 miles. I finally figured out that it had broken one of the exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side. I made a couple videos showing the symptoms, diagnosis and repair of the broken stud if anyone is interested.

It probably would have been covered under the Powertrain warranty, but I wanted to make sure ALL the bolts and the manifold gasket were replaced so I did it myself in about 4 hours this morning.

Nice job. Pretty common on the 5.7/4.7 series. I didn't think it was still happening on the newer ones, though.

Yep. This one looks to have been caused by an out of spec lock nut that held the heat shield. It jammed at installation and most likely over torqued the manifold bolt. It's so nice to have a quiet truck again.
