Real Cat Scale Weight for F250

I was finally able to weigh my F250 CrewCab FX4 short bed at the local Cat scale. Fuel tank full. Two people in cab. I was surprised at how heavy the front is compared to the rear. Bed stays empty. Truck has HD rear springs with HD overloads. The weights are:

Steer Axle 4740

Drive Axle 3260

Are you guys getting similar weights at the rear of the F250/F350 4 wheel drives?

Thank you for the info. I wanted to confirm my empty rear axle weight before I decided on which 5th wheel I can safely tow. Im looking at the WP 315 Pack 12, the Palimino Puma Unleashed 382THS, and 383DSS, and the XRL Microboost 335XLRE, and Boost 35XLRXF11. Maybe a few other non FR models like the KZ Sportster 353TH13.

the Puma wont be well insulated. just sold my 298fqu, toy hauler. 11,400#.. piece of cake to tow with a 17.5 bayliner in tow. Texas r.v. lots are packed, private sales are abundent, tax time for dealers is soon. 8 hours drive to save 15k +or- aint bad. my rule 44k pay 28k or less. fun town r.v. sales texas. san angelo is where i went ,its in the middle of now where.

San Angelo is not out in the middle of nowhere, the op can get the same deal or better at a lot of places between Orange and San Angelo. I’m not saying Fun Town ( locations closer to orange as well) won’t give them a good deal. I bought my first 5th wheel from them got a fair deal great trailer never needed service. Tried to give them same opportunity when I bought my current one. Same dealership same salesman treated us like trash. Until he ran our credit but had another dealership beat the price. Just make sure the dealership is able to work on your trailer

So with the HD springs that puts me at a 7000 Rear axle max and 11.400 GVWR. So that should be able to easily handle a pin weight from 1900 to 2500.

GVWR is assigned by the manufacturer. You can find the GVWR on a placard attached to the vehicle.

In the real world, the HD spring pack moves the practical limits into F350 SRW specs. The rear axle is exactly the same on my year model F250 as the F350 SRW. Putting a label and F350 emblem on the truck does not add any strength to the 10.5 Sterling rear differential. Cant speak for other year models.

I did the HD springs and overloads as a extra cushion for moving to a 5th wheel toy hauler. Trying to stay around a 10K or so empty weight and 14K max loaded, with a pin weight of 2K, give or take a few hundred. There are plenty of 5th wheel toy haulers that are within these specs.

I agree you have a 350 although others will undoubtingly disagree.

I stated in a thread I would post this sticker but it’s been two weeks, it’s relevant to the above post. I apologize the sticker is upside down this sticker is on both passenger and driver side frame
