Real world Ford F-150 gas mileage
Just returned from a one month trip. We tow a Rockwood Roo 233S. About 5800 pounds. My 2018 F150 has a topper with GVWR of 1619. I am sure we were right at that or 200 ponds over or under depending on the day. We started in MN then down to Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, DC then to Shenandoah and back home. Mostly flat until we were in Shenandoah and home through West Virginia. Kept it in tow haul mode and rarely traveled over 60 even in interstates. Averaged 10.4 mpg over 4900 miles. About 500 were without the trailer. I was pretty happy about the gas mileage. The truck handled exactly as expected and we had no issues.

That is about what I get towing in the Sierra if on the highways. I get less on the twisty slow (paved) backroads.

GVWR of 1619 is probably the cargo capacity. Even my Expedition has a GVWR of about 7000 pounds.

9.5-10 is typical for me too in the midwest.
Last month vacationed out west North Dakota, Montana with stiff head and cross winds depending on the day and averaged only 7 MPG. 26' TT 6500lbs.

That is good mileage if real. The gas mileage calculator in the Ford trucks is not that accurate, at least that has been my experience.
I assume you are talking aggregate mileage of towing with and without trailer? When I had my F150 I got around 7 to 8 mpg towing.

My 2011 F 150 4 WD, Super cab gave me a towing MPG of 10 to 12, depending on whether I was on flat or mountain roads. The trailer had a dry weight of 7,400 lbs. With out the trailer, I averaged 20 to 22 mpg. The engine was a 5L V 8. Most of my towing was in the northern California Sierras.

I think I would get exactly the same MPG in my 2019 F150 w/ 3.5 ecoboost- if I could keep it to 60mph on the interstates. Towing a MiniLite 2504s at 68-69mph I might get 9 mpg. 9.5 mpg in the low 60’s.

Sierra? Looks like an F150 Lariat. Are you sure you know which truck is yours? A bunch of bad TV comedies have been written on this theme.

Our 2018 F-150 has the max tow package and we got 9.8 according to the confuser from NC to Alabama and back. Our Flagstaff Classic 8528RKWS is right around 9,000 lbs. We stayed in tow-haul mode and used cruise control most of the time at 60-70mph.

With my 2016 F150 with 2.7L Ecoboost and 3.73 rear axle (2WD) I got 12.5 mpg pulling my MicroLite 19fbs from NJ to KS and back, averaging 60 mph. If I drop down to 55 mph, I can push it over 13 mpg, but when running 65-70, it drops down to about 10. So, 60 mph is my comfortable preferred speed. Without the trailer, I travel from NJ to FL and average 24 mpg doing 70-75.

Ok, now what gas octane do you use? That makes a difference on mileage with my 2019 f150 E.B.

Real mileage begins with odometer verification with mileage markers and ends with math. Otherwise too many variables.

I used 87 or 88 whatever the cheapest option available. I have a 3.5 EB. I have used higher octane and it made such a small difference it wasn’t worth the extra expense.

Trailer height/frontal area is a powerful variable. My TT is only as wide as my F150, and 9'7" tall according to specs. I can get 12-13 mpg in coastal areas, 11-12 mpg in hills. I try to keep it at speed limit, and if limit is 70, I try to stay 65-68. Running at 70, I get a mileage decrease. V8. Regular gas, like Plan Man, any increase in mileage from increased octane is erased by the higher price, so not worth it.
