Recall alert: Michelin recalls truck, RV tires
Michelin is issuing a safety recall for what it calls commercial light truck tires.
The tires are commonly used on commercial light trucks, full-sized heavy duty vans, small recreational vehicles and some large pickup trucks.Check your tires for these numbers
The tires in question are the Michelin LTX M/S LT 225/75R16 115/12R LRE tire. The side walls can rupture.
It has a DOT sequence B3JH AKEX and were made between January 2010 and June 2012.
The tires came as original equipment on some new vehicles, but were also sold as replacement tires. Michelin recommends removing the tires as soon as possible. Owners can visit an authorized retail location to have them changed at no cost.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the recall are being directed to call the company at 1-800-231-5893, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.mET or Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET. Michelin will also be sending letters starting next week to customers explaining the issue and how to get new tires at no charge, AP reported.
