Recommendation for 5th Wheel for a 2017 Silverado
Purchased a new 2017 Silverado 3500 DRW 8' box. Has 5th wheel prep option on it. Can you suggest a manufacturer of a hitch that fits the GM prep package? Thinking of trading up to a 38 EL Champagne.

Cedar Creek make very good campers. We have had two and have had very few problems. I looking at a 38FBD, we like the half a bath. But I need a bigger truck, I have a SRW but I need a DRW

I have the Curt Q20 and it works well. No issues in the 18 months I've had it.

I just bought a 2017 GMC 3500 DRW, D/A....and we plan to upgrade our 2009 CC Silverback to a CC 34RL2.....when I do this, I plan on getting the B&W 18K Patriot....my current hitch uses above bed rails....which is what the Patriot uses. I do not want to drill more holes just to use the Companion.

The OP asked about a 5th wheel hitch. "Can you suggest a manufacturer of a hitch....?"

The OP just 'may' have asked two questions.
They did in fact inquire about a hitch in the body of the post but the title of the thread (Recommendation for 5th Wheel for a 2017 Silverado) and the last sentence in the post, (Thinking of trading up to a 38 EL Champagne) leads me to believe they were open to soliciting advice on 5th wheel trailers as well.
I may be completely wrong too.

Did you miss the word "also"? IMHO, Prime time is a far better unit as I is NOT manufactured by Forest River

Prime Time Manufacturing is a Division of Forest River. Took ours to the International FROG Rally in Indiana last August. Prime Time Service personnel, James and Leslie provided great service at the Rally!

I am happy with my B&W Companion, except that once in January when the temperature was about 20 degrees, it was hard to get the jaws open. I didn't really 'shop' for a hitch; I got the B&W because that is what my local truck shop (Dulley Depot in Elkhart, IN) recommended.

We are quite happy with out Chaparral 336TSIK pulling behind our 2500HD Duramax with a B&W Companion hitch. I hope this helps. Happy Trails.

I'm using a Pullrite Superlite in my Ram 2500 with the puck system. Hitch weighs about 55 pounds, and the rails are easily removed for a clear bed when not towing. Super easy hook up... 20,000 lb towing capacity, and 5,000 lb pin weight. I'm towing a Coachman Chaparral 336TSIK that weighs 12,200 loaded.

Reply to KAYO re Prime Time.
The following is a quote from the Prime Time web site:
"Headquartered in Wakarusa, Indiana, Prime Time Manufacturing proudly builds a full line of towable RV products including travel trailers, fifth wheels, and toy haulers. As a division of Forest River, Inc. – North America’s largest manufacturer of towable recreational products and a Berkshire Hathaway company – Prime Time ..."
I think we all associate Warren Buffet with Berkshire Hathaway, but he doesn't own it. He is only the major stockholder, Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of the Board.
