Reese rail install - Ram 2500 2002

I'm reading the instructions for mounting the Reese 30095 base rail install kit and Pro 15k head unit on my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500.

Unfortunately, Reese has TWO instruction sets for this. '94-'02, and 2002-present. I'm having a hard time figuring out which set of instructions to use.

I called Reese, and the first person I got deferred me to a second person, who gave me an answer, but the way it was worded I'm not sure I trust it.

Any of you guys know how to figure out which group my rig would fall into?

Maybe ask Reese if they can tell you via manufacture date or some other means if identification.

The instructions were poor. Granted, this was the universal rail kit, but neither of the instruction sets were 100% accurate. The holes they said to use were bogus.

I ended up using them as a guideline and modified then to work with my frame.

Once I had it all put together, the legs didn't want to fit. The rail shifted a smidge when I was tightening the bolt. They seated with a little force. I don't have to worry about them rattling!

Now all I need is my new trailer!

As I recall, in 2002 they switched body styles for the 1500 while they kept making the 2500 in the old body style until 2003.

Would have been nice for the to note that though, huh?
