On my '01 Superduty I replaced the stock shocks with Bilstein heavy duty and I am happy with the performance.

I've got the rancho 9000 , adjustable for when loaded set to higher dampening , and lower when not towing or carrying . they are life time warranty and just had mine replaced free of charge after 90,000 miles .
can't go wrong with the ranchero

Another vote for Bilstein. I have the 5100's as well as the 5100 steering stabilizer. My truck is an FX4 so it came with the fake Rancho shocks. By fake I mean they are Ford shocks painted Rancho colors. 3 out of 4 on them were blown with 950 miles on the truck. 5100's have been great since. The 5100 steering stabilizer is a great upgrade from the stock unit too as it eliminates the potential of Ford's famous "death wobble."
