Silverback owners and newer Ram trucks

I'm possibly in the market for a newer pickup. Preferably a 2013-2015 Ram 3500 dually. My concern is the height of the bed and bed rails in relation to the trailer itself. Do any Silverback owners pull with a newer Ram 3500 SRW or dually and if so, did you need to modify the trailer suspension?

I don't have a Silverback, but I didn't have to do any mods on my trailer... I have a good 7" of clearance between the bed rails and the camper nose... camper is about 1" high in the front.. over 40' you don't even notice it.

I have 2012 Ram 3500 SRW pulling 2016 Silverback 33IK, everything is stock. Hook up and go no problem. I have towed several thousand miles but I am going to change the pin box to a trailair or similar.

I would get your tape measure out. I have a Silverback and went from a 2011 F250 Ford 2wd to a 2015 Chevy 2500hd 4wd. Everything was perfect with the Ford but with the higher bed rails of the Chevy I had less than 4 1-2 inches clearance to the trailer with the Chevy.
Had to make a 2 inch spacer for my Superglide mount. Since then I have looked at lot of rigs and noticed a lot of variation in the pin box mount relative to the 5r floor above the pin box. My Silverback floor is lower than most. After the spacer the front is about an inch and a half higher than the back measuring frame to ground but I have just over 6 inch from bed rail to bottom of trailer floor.

A Rockwood isn't a Silverback; understood. But my Rockwood was always nose-high behind my '09 Ram and 2" worse behind our 2016 Ram. We raised the trailer 4". Now the rig is level. Looks strange, but hasn't
tipped over--not yet anyway! And we used the opportunity to go from 4000 lb. axles to 5200.

I forgot to mention something else. Besides the bed rail height, the width was also narrower. The Silverback used a Lippert 1716 pin box which turned out to be too long to turn safely inside the Chevy box. For my truck it should have been a 1116 which is 5 inches or so shorter and would fit well with a slider hitch for cab clearance. I took the opportunity to buy a MorRyde version of the 1116 and it drives nicer than ever. Google "truck bed sizes" and you will find a lot of info on this. I did not know any better and found out the hard way.
