Suspension upgrade - Bilstien shocks & Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit

I can't believe I did not do this a long time go. Yes, my truck is old, but I bought it new in 2002 and it's been paid for since about 2006. Dealer maintained since day one (and well maintained), just over 122k miles on it. I would love a new one with all the gadgets and goo-gaa's, but paid for is hard to argue with. Truck is a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500.

I've been thinking a set of Bilstien 4600 shocks would be a good idea as the factory shocks were nearly 17 years old. Also figured a Roadmaster Active Suspension would help with the towing of both the travel trailer and my center console boat trailer. Man what a difference!!!

The ride is noticeably firmer but a more in control type of firmer (not overly stiff). I don't think the RAS engages with the truck bed empty, but I can tell a huge difference with the boat (100% dead tongue weight as there is no weight distribution on that trailer). A lot less squat, almost none. Much more in command ride. I have not pulled the travel trailer yet, but I'm thinking I will reset the WD hitch height since the bumper height is about a inch taller now. I can't imagine it not being a huge improvement.

So from me, a big thumbs up for both the Bilstien 4600 shocks and the Roadmaster Active Suspension.

Another plus is the same RAS will quickly unbolt and fit onto either a GMC/CHEVY/FORD 350/3500 SRW if I ever do upgrade the truck.
