Tekonsha p3 brake controller

I just installed a Tekonsha p3 brake controller in my Yukon XL and noticed that it stays on. Is the electrical draw going to drain my battery when not in use? Should I disconnect it if I don't drive my truck for several weeks?

I have one in my Durango, that was previously in my 4Runner. Never had an issue.

It should go to sleep after awhile of no motion.

The P3 was the best brake controller I ever owned. Mine would turn off on its own after I turned off the truck.

As others have stated, it goes into sleep mode after a short period of time. My truck as sat for several months and started right up. That's with no battery maintainer and the original battery from when the truck was new.
