Time delay or proportional brake control?

I am doing some research and trying to find a good brake control for my 2017 Silverado 1500 I have a towing package that the truck came with and anti sway system just no brake controller. Was wondering what everyone else’s uses and like better?

In another current thread discussing brake controllers, the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 or P3 proportional unit seems to be the clear winner.

Brake controller

Do you really want to save money with a time delay controller? If I have a vehicle pull out in front of me, I want braking immediately! P3 or P4 are well respected. I use a P4.

Another vote for Proportional

I went with the Tekonsha P3 and have no regrets. Get the cable that plugs in just above and left of the parking brake. It’s a real plug-and-play installation.
