Tires

I have to replace the tires on my Dodge 2500 SLT 4 WD. I tow a Cherokee 264L. IN SC so don't see a ton of snow but need tires that will get me around

Reccomendations?

NOT Cooper. I hate my 1-yr old Cooper's.

Next time I'm going to be going back to BFG or Goodyear's. Probably BFG Rugged Trails that were OEM.

I have had excellent service with Bridgestone Duelers. Now have the Dueler Revo 3. Traction and stability when towing a Wildwood 26 DBLE is very good. Only 5000 miles on them so donít know about wear yet.

Put Michelin Defender LTX on my 3500HD. Very happy with very little noticable wear after 20K. Replaced Cooper tires...Michelin drive much better.

Hankook tires also get good reviews for LT tires

Happy with my Falken Wildpeak AT/3s. 20,000 miles on them and very little wear. Much cheaper than BF Goodrich. Good traction and just a little buzz on the highway. If you want or need a little more aggressive AT tire take a look at them.

See post #2.. how long have you had them? Mine won't last 40k. They're supposed to a 65k tire.

Longevity is to be determined. 20k on them right now. They are wearing well.

I use a 2006 Ram 2500. This must be my 4th set. None of them got much over 40k before I replaced them. Even my Nitto tires started getting hard by 40k.

Your mileage may vary.

Cheers

Tim

I ran Cooper's on my work trucks for 25 years ... cost saving over Michelin which I always run on personal trucks/cars ....

I also went that direction with my F-150. One of the best values out there. Work good on wet pavement, snow, and dirt roads (forest service). I've not done any real off roading or mudding in them. Wearing like iron. They're pretty quiet (or, as people prefer to say: they're quite.)

BTW ... one Cooper ... many Coopers.

If a Cooper 65k tire only gets 40k, it's still a good tire? In my book it's not.

My BFG AT TA's on my aJeep have no warranty. However, I can get 60-70k out of a set..

I went with the Michelin LTX AT-2 LRE , a little more aggressive than the LTX Defender but a better wear warranty. Considered the BFG TA's K02 ,I like the looks but a bit more road noise fro my liking.

My new Defender LTX M/S 8ply tires have a 70,000 mile wear warranty. What does yours have?

I got rid of my OEM Firestone tires on my Ram at 6000 miles and in stalled the Michelin tires what a difference and I even got $400 for the Firestone. I bought tires through Dodge dealer total cost mount balanced -the $400 $700 out the door. Later RJD
