Tow/Haul Mode?

I drive a RAM 1500 and tow a 20' FR Stealth/Evo. I suppose it only makes common sense to depress tow/haul when towing a trailer. But what are the pros/cons? What advantages are gained by using the tow/haul mode?

Tow haul helps regulate the shifting to maintain speed, acceleration or deceleration. Great feature.

Driving with and without my trailer north of Charlottesville this past weekend, including up to the top of the Blue Ridge parkway, trailer tow mode helped out a lot. When heading down the hills, tow mode downshifted to keep me from having to use the brakes as much. It helped even when not pulling the camper.

I will echo the comments about the tow/haul posted. I have used it for more than five years and I am not a "tech" person so can only say the "feel" is good. I can support the comment about mountain driving. In the western US I have, with tow/haul and cruise control, have set a speed on long downhills and it holds. I will say if grades are over 6% and/or with tight curves be prudent.
