Tow vehicle for e pro/ geo pro

Hey guys! I tried searching the forums, and either I’m not good at or it doesn’t exist! I’m interested in the geo pro or e pro, a model who’s dry weight is either 2829lbs or 3050lbs. I have a Lexus RX350 with the tow package ability to 3500lbs. I was wondering if anyone in here has experience with this tow vehicle or something similar like a Toyota Highlander. Thanks for your time!

What is the GVWR of the trailer? UVW or "dry" means nothing.

Add the CCC to the UVW to get a closer approximation of the GVWR.

You will see that both those models are way over your tow vehicle's capacity.

What is the payload on your Lexus? It will be on a yellow sticker in the driver door jamb.

Yes, please don't make the newbie mistake of using fictional dry weights. No trailer weighs those numbers when it leaves the factory.
And single axle trailers will have higher tongue weights than comparable tandem axle trailers. Depending on which model, I think that both will have loaded tongue weights that will exceed the 350lbs MAX of your Lexus.
Use 13% of the trailer's GVWR for a ballpark loaded tongue weight.
Not many single axle travel trailers will be capable of being towed by a vehicle with the 350lbs/3500lbs rating.
Those numbers are for towing Popups or A-frames.

We tow our ePro 14fk, which is one of the lightest travel trailers that Forest River makes. We tow with a Ford Escape Titanium which also has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs and the factory towing package. The GVW of our trailer is a skosche over 2200 lbs. I'm not 100% on the tongue weight of the ePro or the tongue weight capacity of the Escape. I would not want to tow any more weight that we are at this point, but we have good control and even decent gas mileage. We travel at 55-60 MPH and we tend to avoid Interstate highways. If we wanted to go faster, we would fly or just drive and stay in hotels. I think the TT experience is part of seeing all the things we usually miss.

Towing Epro

I use a Chevy Silverado 8 cylinder. With no issues. I would not use the Lexus to tow I feel that if done it would put to much stress on the Lexus. It would eventually ruin the Lexus. Tell you wife that you need a truck it's a win win.

I would look for an Escalade, Tahoe, Suburban, or Yukon/XL/Denali. Something with a tow capacity above 7k to give you some extra room.

The longer wheelbase vehicles are going to be better for towing.

Not unless you tore out the sink, fridge, and a bunch of other gear in that trailer. It has a fictional dry weight of 2,260 lbs, but yours going down the road weighs just a tad over 2,200 lbs? Highly unlikely.

Just pointing this out so that others don't make assumptions that physics won't support. As mentioned above, fictional dry weights are just that: fiction. Trailers coming off the lot will weigh more than that simply due to factory options, dealer options, battery, etc. Then, cookware, food, toiletries, clothes, leveling gear, tools, and everything else adds up incredibly quick. It's why for planning purposed, a person should always use the GVWR of smaller trailers as an approximation of how much a trailer will actually weigh.

The E-Pro E14FK probably will be 3,000 lbs rolling down the road and will drop 390 lbs onto the hitch + whatever the hitch itself weighs (50 lbs or more if using WDH).

Good luck.
