Towing Jeep Wrangeler

We just had our tow bar installed on our Jeep and are ready to tow. My only question is, I read in the jeeps owners manual when towing to put the manual transmison in gear? Is that right? Which gear? Just want to make sure.
The jeep is a 1998 Wrangler, 5 speed,4X4

It doesn't matter what gear you choose. I personally use 4th. Those with automatic transmissions leave them in park. The transfer case must be in neutral, and you must have the key turned to the first position to unlock the steering wheel.

This post brings back memories! We used to tow our popup around with my 98 wrangler, it was a manual transmission too. I miss that Jeep so much, I totally regret selling it.
