I tow an Impression 315MB with my 2015 Chevy 2500. Pulls great, it is the Durmax, but truck wise I am sure you will be fine.

I have similar numbers on my set up and I have no problems at all. Now if I decide which I want to go bigger I will up grade the truck. Also going to a fifth wheel will make the towing experience much nicer.

Kudo's for defending him but so far of the folks answering the OP he's the only one to be a nay sayer and it seems he misread the OP's post because he's mentioned a 1/2 ton but the OP has a 3/4 ton with 3000+ payload, and by his own admission was not based on real world experience but estimates and guesses.

Unfortunately you are not reading my posts accurately.
I was addressing my responses to wildmanabe, NOT the OP.(SEE POST #7)
wildmanabe is pulling a 5th wheel with a Nissan Titan.
So you didn't pay attention to who I quoted and who I responded to.
I never responded to the OP nor commented about their combo nor their post.
Please re-read my posts.

Back to the OP. We've pulled our fiver for one season. VERY similar circumstances and numbers much like yours, only we have an F250 6.2.

No issues. The entire rig handles well. Also think we'll get a 1 ton (probably a dually) diesel when we retire and stretch our legs out on longer trips.

Drive safe and have fun.

Come on man. Even tho it is a diesel engine, it is still only a halfton pickup. No doubt you are way over CCC. Before you argue, please post a photo of the CCC sticker on the pickup.

Kimber45's also correct that after towing a travel trailer and a fiver, you'll never go back to a TT. Fivers seem to tow so much better and can be a shorter tow than the TT, since you've got about a quarter of the RV length over the truck bed. Storage and space inside and outside a fiver is also much better.

Only downside to the fiver is they don't respond as quickly as a TT when turning them. It'll take some getting used to that, but shouldn't be a show stopper for you.
So if I am towing a 40' 5th wheel camper, 10' is over the truck bed ? I hope not.

They are no where near CCC. If you don't believe try using google.

Just to be sure we are talking about the same pickup - a Nissan Titan. The post in question is by wildmanabe .

There are two members here, who have posted questions on towing too much.
One is the OP, who has a 3/4 ton truck. The other is someone who is towing a 5th wheel with a Titan 1/2 ton truck.
Please read all the posts.

You obviously missed my point. With a fiver there are several feet (about 5 feet, or so) of the RV that sits over the bed of the truck, thus making it a shorter tow than an equivalent length TT hitched to the bumper of the tow vehicle. 10 feet, 5 feet, whatever the measurement, there is a major difference in how an RV tows and handles when part of it is sitting over the tow vehicles rear axle.

The same diesel truck has a LOWER payload because the added weight of the engine takes up some of the GVWR.
