OP...instead of stretching your finances with the possibilty of a used TV & new Roo camper...just go with renting cabins @ state parks & enjoy the outdoor experience!
In the meantime, set aside a seperate RV account @ your bank & stash away as much as you can for as long as you can to make this decision a lot easier...just a thought as I read your wants @ nots with this decision

Have you considered hiring a person with a truck to tow your Roo for you? There are people who will tow your trailer to the site for you. Then you could drive your car to the CG. Just another solution to your problem.

Just my thoughts, but if you're going to own a camper you need something to tow it with. Won't long for DW to realize that chunk of money sits in the driveway over 90% of the time and when you want to use it for the week-end it will cost $400 or more. May want to consider cabins at state parks or KOA campgrounds; still get the camping experience without out all the ownership problems.

Yeah, this is not a smart money hobby. It cost a lot with no return and lots of depreciation. But if it is something you enjoy and/or love its great memories that are priceless!
Dave Ramsey would probably never never recomend rving to anybody unless they had millions in retirement already. This great lifetyle is probably never going to make money sense, but we all have our vices.
-if its all about the costs of camping dont get started, because it adds up after a while.
Good luck on your decision!
