Towing with Ram 2500 4x4

Picking up a 2018 Rockwood 8299sb… will be towing with 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 . Bed height to top of rails 59” to pin plate 47. Height to tailgate 36”… inside bed height is 21.

Looking at Reese/ Curt hitch with 13” minimum height adjustment… what are the chances I will be towing my 5th wheel “nose high”?

Anyone have any input… these measurements are starting to worry me((

We have a 2017 Rockwood 8289WS and pull it with a 2016 Ram 2500 4X4. On our 4th year with this truck with no issues and I was a bit concerned about the bed height when we bought it. We use a Curt A16 hitch which also is working out very well.
Don't recall our measurements but if you want ours to compare I can measure in the morning.
Let me know here or send me a PM, would be happy to get those numbers.

Thx Badger …. I would appreciate your measurements…that would be a great help!!! It may put my concerns at ease!! Is your Curt 5er height at the lowest level?

Also what size tires on your Rockwood.? The 8299sb I am looking at has 225r/75/15’s

Good Morning Twinshores1,
Had a garage sale the past few days in our shed so just got our fifth wheel backed into it's parking place. Went out and grabbed some measurements so hope this helps.
Camper sitting level the bottom of the kingpin plate is 52 1/2" from the floor.
Floor to top of bedrail 57"
Floor to top of hitch plate 52"
Inside bed height 21"
Open tailgate is 40" from floor
Hitch plate is 17" up from bed floor
Our Curt hitch is mounted in the center mounting holes
Camper tires are ST225/75R15 Good Year Endurance and the truck has 18" tires.

If I recall, we have 5 1/2 to 6" of clearance from the fifth wheel nose to the top of the bed rail.
Our truck drops almost 2 inches when the camper is hooked up.
We have the Reece Revolution hitch that I did use that function when we first got the camper. It started making noises when I would turn so I locked that out and use the hitch as a regular hitch. Have not had any issues with turning and clearance from the front of the camper to the cab of the truck. Our truck is the Ram 2500 Bighorn four door with the 6 1/2 foot bed.

Hope this helps. If you need any more measurements let me know.

As you can see in my signature, we pretty much tow the same thing. Never had a problem or never even really thought about height problems. Hopefully you should be fine.

That's one of the few differences between the 2500 and 3500 SRW, which has leaf spring suspension. The coil was a smoother ride, for us anyway. No mods except for a skid plate, cow catcher in front with a Horrible Freight 12K winch, and all the windows tinted as dark as legally allowed; my wife has sun/skin problems.
