Bought a 2021 ford f150. Hooked up for the first time to set the intergraded brake controller. Set it all the way to 10 and nothing. Im not getting any error messages in the truck its showing the but not stopping. Anyone having or had the same issue. Had a f150 18' last season never had an issue

Thanks

First trip for the year this weekend. problem of coarse

Is there some type of fuse on the trailer that would possibly cause these not to work. Its a 2016 Roo 183

Do you feel any brakes with the manual squeeze tabs? Does your display in the settings section show low-medium-high choices?

The integrated brake controller does supply less braking voltage below 20 MPH to make for smoother stops.

Doesn’t seem like any breaking tried all three settings my wife used to switch inside the truck and I heard buzzing coming from the tires found this. Are these connectors reusable

That's so ironic!!! My trailer brakes failed for the same reason those garbage crimp on connectors. Trailer worked fine previous fall took it out in the spring and they had failed.

NO they cannot be reused. IF it's an emergency use wirenuts and tape them for this trip till you can get some crimp on wirenuts.

You can also find them at the big box hardware stores. I like to put a dab of Vaseline into them before pushing in the wires. Never have had a failed connection on my boat trailer and they get dunked 20-25 times a year

Nope, issue is possibly with the tow vehicle or the 7-pin connector.
Can you try hooking the truck up to another TT?

Took the trailer back out after the repair. Definitely have some brakes but still can’t lock them up no matter what I set the gain

Just ideas for you to check off

Speed above 25MPH when testing?
low-medium-high setting at high?
Set for Electric brakes rather than electric over hydraulic?
Not likely to need a brake adjustment since they last worked with your '18 but know knows?

I can't get my trailer to lockup either with my '19 no matter what I try

That is actually a good thing while on the road. You don't want the trailer brakes locking up while stopping on the road as that could cause the trailer to jackknife. Only on dirt or gravel should the brakes come anywhere near locking up.

Suggest you solder those connections then cover in heat shrink tubing. If the brakes are brand new they may take some time to wear in for full capacity.

I have a new 235S and Ford Expedition with integrated brake controller. I have it set to aggressive on the Ford and maxed the gain and 10 and was still not able to get them to lock up. However I read that this can be normal. It has plenty of stopping power so I left it be.

This may help. On my new trailer, when I left dealer, I went on a side road to adjust my Prodigy P3 Controller and followed the get up to 20mph and use the manual brake lever. Keep doing this and adjusting more until you get to lockup and back the gain down. I went almost all the way up and never got the lockup. But I felt it was set too high and backed it down anyway. After getting home, I came across info from Lippert that discussed burnishing brand new brakes to get them to work properly. The basics is that you get up to around 45mph and while continuing at that speed, manually apply the trailer brakes. Continue for a length of time and then release. Do this several times to heat up the brakes. Then let them cool down. I gave this a try although I didn't heat them up quite as hot as the video instructs. End result, I was able to get lockup on my trailer brakes and then backed down the gain. It's worth a try...https://youtu.be/d9HDloz9fq8
