Trailer sway issues- help please
2015 F250 crew cab short bed 4x4 diesel -8650lbs (front 4900,back 3750)
35”x 12.50 x 18 (12 ply toyo)
2016 keystone impact toyhauler - 10,600lbs loaded, 1550 tongue weight
Curt WDH 17501 series with bars not chains
Level lot unhooked truck- front fender 42 1/2. Rear fender 43 1/2
Level lot hooked no wdh- front fender43 1/2. Rear fender 41 1/2
Level lot WDH front fender 42 1/2. Rear fender 42
Ball on unhooked truck is 26” to top of ball
Trailer top of hitch 24 1/2
Whew. I think i have given you all the details.
My problem is sway over 50 mph, i have read and researched all that i can. I have spent hours in a parking lot with no success. I am so frustrated right now i can scream. This is my 5th camper so I’m not new to this. I own and drive semi trucks so I’m not new to towing.
Comes a point where i need your expertise please.

How is your trailer sitting? Is it possible that your hitch is set up wrong. Is your tongue high? Not familiar with the hitch head but do you use washers to tilt the head? If so you might have to add/remove washers. What size bars do you have and are they rated for the weight you have? Just putting a couple things out to look at.

Sits level
Yes it uses washers, i had 2 and went to three in order to get the front of the truck to sit down
Hitch is curt trutrack trunnion bar system rated 10k-15k
Tongue weight rated 1k-1.5k

It sounds like your measurements are pretty good as far as distributing the weight properly. Like others stated- what about the level of your trailer?
I measure the front and rear height of the frame, WITH it hooked up and WDH on. I have a hunch you may be off there and it is generating the sway... because honestly it sounds like you've got everything else good to go!

I would guess you maybe don't have 1550 pounds of tounge weight or if you do you are transferring too much with the weight distribution. Maybe try towing a bit without the bars and see if it improves. If it does then either add more tounge weight or back off some of the weight distribution.
If you do have 1500 pounds and it sways without weight distribution then I'd think some part of the trailer suspension is broken.

I am assuming the weights given are unloaded. Do you know your rear axle loading with the camper ready to go? I don't have the same hitch (Reese Dual Cam) but 1550 pounds of tongue weight should be enough to have little or no sway if set up properly. I have 1400 pounds of motorcycles in the back of my toyhauler and the setup is critical. I also have to have a third of a tank of fresh water to get enough hitch weight. Also have you checked out your spring shackles and leaf springs to make sure everything is OK?

Ok here is what i found with your help and another forum as well.
TT tire pressure was low 50/80
Dropped the nose of TT some with hitch adjustment.
Truck tires dropped psi from 80 to 65
Wow what a difference

You might want to double-check to ensure the tires at 65 psi will handle the weights. My TT is 9150 lbs loaded, with 1400 on the tongue, and I run the TT tires and rear truck tires at 80 psi, and the front truck tires at 50 (all tires load range E). This has worked well for us, although I cheat and use a Hensley Arrow hitch that eliminates trailer sway. Hensley and ProPride hitches have been discussed in the forum several times, so if all else fails and you want to upgrade....that said, I agree with those that say your truck seems to be well-suited for the load you are asking it to pull.

Checking adjustment on WDH
Maybe call your brand's factory customer service center; Mine is a Husky CL TS, but I called the factory, they sent me a template for me to measure ALL the same places, more or less, and they recommended from that exactly how many washers, height of supports, height of hitch, etc. They want your tongue weight too. I sent it 3 times, and they told me each time how to tweek it each time, until I have it dialed in perfect now.

You mention the WDH as "Curt WDH 17501 series with bars not chains" Just want to confirm that it does have the "Sway Control" built in right?
The web describes it as "INTEGRATED SWAY CONTROL. The TruTrack doesn't just level the vehicle and trailer. It also actively resists trailer sway. It uses a spring and cam system and fixed support brackets to stop trailer sway at four distinct points for a smoother, safer ride."
My WDH uses the chain system, and I have an add on sway control bar which I need to manually engage, I'm not familiar with the integrated systems, maybe others can comment on how the sway control is engaged with your specific system?

What ae you carrying in the Toyhauler? Some get light on the hitch when a vehicle or ATV is loaded into the back of the TH.

I can only tell you what I have had happen to me. I have a similar truck and a lighter trailer. I "greased" the bars where they contact the trailer holders to eliminate the squeal when turning. DOOO!
Make sure they are lubed at the hitch per the manufactures instructions, call them if you have to, and dry NO LUBE where the bars contact the brackets on the trailer.

He is over the tongue weight for this hitch...but it will make a huge difference.
