I left for a 2000 mile trip and needed to add one jug (was not full when left.. See above for dealer not topping off) which later another 3000 I added a bit more after another long trip. I seem to get around 6000 or so on a tank of def.

BTW, easy to find.. Just might be pricey. Truck stops have it at the pump for 2.50 to 3.00 a gallon or inside for 7.00 (yikes ) a gallon. I bring a 2.5 gallon gas can with me filled. You'll be fine for 850 miles.

I've got a little more than 2600 miles on my new duramax and my dic is still showing "ok" (heres a pic i took today at lunch) probably half of those miles were towing about 9,000 lb of boat and trailer and or towing car hauler that was about 5-6,000 lb
And i haven't filled any def in it yet. I'm gonna top it off this weekend just out of curiosity.

Its 2015.5 was built in august. Would have been a '16 usually, but they delayed them till the redesigned 1500s were released. It's a gmc denali, i think most of it is about like the chevy high country. The cluster is a computer screen with regular needles for the rpm and mpg, you can change the middle layout to 3 different styles and can also have your nav, digital mpg, radio and some other stuff, up on the cluster

The gmc's have the 6 guages and a smaller lcd screen on the cluster on the slt and sle models. They keep changing trim levels up. My '05 chevy duramax i just sold was an Lt and was top of the line then. Now Lt is the first step after base model....hard to figure all the option crap out anymore.

I believe I sort of answered your question in my #3 post.
Since most,if not all, truck stops are designed to accommodate their primary customer, that being the big rig trucker, the DEF hose length is determined to meet their needs and not other vehicle types, such as RV's.
All the big rigs I have seen have their DEF filler on the drivers side and the hose is long enough to service the tank without having to pull their rig up. The only times I have seen drivers pulling their rigs forward after fueling is to service the trailer reefer fuel tank,if so equipped.

Your question was answered many times.
The truck stops were designed around big trucks.
All have the def tank where it belongs, beside the fuel fill.
Your truck has it in the incorrect location.

Not to get in a peeing match but two people said it might be short for semi trucks.. Makes sense.. And could be the case. You said my truck was the problem, not helpful. Another with a gmc said he is fine getting def at pump (so pump might be longer, did not specify, so might have been my particular pump). Even those who said they filled before never actually said if they needed 2 feet of hose or 10.. So moving on..
I think this has been beat to death without an answer beyond it is just for semis but no recalling of length when encountered and needs to be closed..
