When you trailer, do you travel with yours open? Or better yet, have you traveled with it folded open and against the rear of your cab?

I'm asking because that rod setup looked a bit flimsy to me. It might be perfectly fine, it just looks rickety for what I was expecting, I guess.

When I travel I just fold it open laying flat on the last fold. I do not stand it up against the cab using the rods. In my setup there is plenty of room not to obstruct the fifth wheel when turning

That's exactly what ours looks like right now.

Had it replaced about before 3 yrs ago when a hail storm damaged it and the truck.

Had the truck fixed and the lid replaced. Another bad hail storm this summer, truck was okay, but lid dented all to hec. Didn't bother having it replaced this time.

I really gotta bite the bullet and get one one of these days. Like other posts said, the only options with a rambox are the bakflip or the mopar ones. And the mopar's over $1200 (cdn) for fabric. Just been having trouble justifying the $800 (cdn) for the flip vs paying other bills.
