Invaluable

Can't live without it. Wish my truck camper had a pass through window to match.

16 foot reasons

Here's why I like it 16 foot boards are no problem to haul!

I had a '92 F-150 single cab 8 foot bed with the rear window. Yes, it was great for hauling long boards. I had a cap on it and could still fit 12 foot boards. My current truck does not have the rear window

Sure miss the convenience.

True, but the point is made.

While I appreciate everyone's perspective, I still don't think I'll pay >$300 for the privilege of opening the window. I don't transport long stuff that much and almost never drive with the windows open even a crack.

Those boards are maybe max, 10' based on the wheelbarrow size of that bed.
So, another 6' hanging off the tailgate ain't happening.

Wow I have to prove it! Go measure your pickup from the windshield to the end of the bed and tell us the length.
Then tell me there 10 footers.

I don't have to.
I own a Ram crew cab with an 8' bed and I can tell you my cab is not 8' long.

I usually don't entertain your type's but my cab is 8 FEET from the windshield to the rear window.. you got a stubby cab.

So, since you don't have an 8' bed, I was correct in that 16' isn't happening unless it is hanging off the back of the bed.

This argument is a bit silly, isn't it?

Unless you have a cap camper shell with a pass through window in the front, IMHO the little window serves no purpose at all. My 07 F-150 had one, in the 15 years I owned it I never once opened it. My new F-250 was purposely ordered without one, as the new ones are complex, electric and prone to failure and leaking.

If I had a cap cover camper shell then it would be a totally different story...
