W/D hitch and which style?

I'm another with the Equalizer setup. Both me (48 years old) and my father (71 years old) have the equalizer and nor he or I have any issues handling the heads.


Maybe my father is an anomaly, but he still digs trenches, drags hot water tanks out of basements (he has 13 apartment buildings that he maintains) and pretty much does everything that he has ever done... just a little slower and with an arthritis limited neck and upper spine. The weight of that cast head is about the last thing that he would consider.


The equalizer works extremely well and for me and a 28" camper box (33' bumper to coupler) the sway is flat out eliminated, the front axle weight was put back to within 80 lbs of the empty truck and it made driving the box of air pleasurable. And it was $350 used on FB Marketplace. I love buying things like this for half price, you know... things that last decades and don't really wear out without massive amounts of use. Go used if you can, spend the saved money on something else you want or need.

You do not say what you are pulling it w/. I prefer Equalizer, but for the trailer you are pulling should be fine. I do not believe yours has anti-way control, but if you are pulling w/ a 1/2 ton truck, fine. A lot is how they set it up.

Husky Centerline TS (a 4-point anti-sway hitch). My last hitch was a Hensley Arrow. The Hensley has an edge in sway control; the Husky provides better adjustment for weight distribution. Both hitches provide a safe, relaxed towing experience.

In addition to Equalizer and Husky, other options in a 4-point style are Reese Steadi-Flex and Curt Tru-Track. Lots of positive owner comments on those models on the E-trailer website.
