I told my son...

I told my son that CarMax prices cars about $2000 higher than everyone else because of their warranty. If you are looking for a fairly new car with a good reliability rating, better to buy from private party, since you don't need the warranty.

He called me an hour later and said he had found the same make and model year with 10,000 fewer miles for $2000 less, private party. The car lasted for years with minimal repairs.

Sounds like you got a great deal on a new truck!!
My experience is that cars offered directly from the Hertz/Avis/Enterprise resale lots are generally overpriced.

Other than that, I would buy one. They mostly aren't abused--very expensive to rent if you are a UMU25. The only thing to do would be to change front brake pads as soon as you get it. Drivers in strange towns tend to brake a lot and most rentals are by out-of-towners.

Around 2014 someone posted a list of acronyms use on this forum. Since I was new at that time I made a pdf file with them.

He asked if he could show me a deal he had and I mistakenly agreed.

2 hours later I am leaving with a 2019 F250 6.2 4x4 Crew Cab XLT with all the towing options and only 75 miles for under $35k on the road.

Unfortunately, we are still looking for the DW's car and I am in the doghouse until she finds it.
I can't take DW to the RV dealership whenever I go to get service or parts. Last two times she went with me, I wound up getting different RV's! This last time had me going from our Flagstaff TT to the current Sunseeker MH. I stay away from RV lots now. [emoji15]

So do these steps and the bracket detach easily for the ability of hauling things or are they somewhat permanently mounted?

Looks like they're bolted down with 4 bolts.

Thanks,,, that what it 'looked' like but I wanted to be sure.
Currently, I carry a small aluminum folding step stool/ladder. 300 Lb. capacity. Weighs about 6 lbs.
Use it at the back or side of the bed.

Congratulations, I hope you enjoy your new truck and find the new car your wife wants quickly.

Vehicle for the DW

Bought a 2014 Ford F-250 6.7 L 4door cab. My wife drives that and loves it. Tells everyone it’s her truck and loves it when all the guys ooh and ahh over it. It also helps keep the miles off of it as it is not a daily driver. She thinks she’s a big shot in it...LOL

It seems you got great deal for that truck. Congratulations! Looks great. Is it that high that you need a ladder in the back

Unfortunately not a spring chicken anymore. Bad back and knees make some assistance required.

Me too. I always have a step stool in the basement of the camper. And at home too.
