WD/Dual Cam set up
going to set up my Dual Cam sway control in the next few days. I will start by checking the WD set up first. basically start over.
my question is- I have the trailer all loaded up and ready, should I also have all my gear in the pick up? I have about 300 pounds of gear.

Yes, you want things as close to camping ready as possible.

got the dual cam installed today. checked the WD and it was fine, the trailer sits level and the back of the truck (measured at the wheel wells) is 1/2" higher than the front. drove it around and really like the dual cam over the friction sway control.

The back of the truck being 1/2" higher than the front is probably a good thing, but no necessarily. Depending on body style (fenders not the same front to back), or how your truck sat before adding the trailer, that might not be the ideal setup. You really need to do the before and after measurements to make sure weight has been added back to your front axle.
Per chance with my truck, yes the back fenders are exactly 1/2" higher in the back than the front. My front fenders sink 1/16" of an inch adding about 40 lbs. to the axle over a non-trailer situation. The back fender sinks 1 and 1/16th of an inch and carries an extra 520 lbs. I am about equal as far as my GAWR percentages front to back.
You should be fine, but a before and after fender measurement would confirm that.

I did the before measurement (should of posted it) the rear only dropped a 1/2 inch. I filled my 36 gallon water tank and put that in the back of the truck to compensate for my gear (then did my before and after measurements). last time it was set up it had all the gear in the truck and the trailer was loaded- looks like it was done correct the first time by the dealer - unbelievable since my first trailer was done wrong by a different dealer and I had to redo it! and again really like he dual cam what a difference from the friction sway

If that is a drop of 1/4 inch, the you probably are good to go. A trip over a CAT scale or the local quarry scale will confirm your weights if you want to double check the setup.
