WDH

Looking for opinions on Curt weight distributing hitches. I have a Rockwood 2706ws trailer with UVW of 6740 lbs and CCC of 2104 lbs. Hitch weight is 844 lbs. Looking to purchase this WDH Curt #17222 rated to tow 10,000 lbs to 14,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 1000 lbs to 1400 lbs tongue weight. Any comments or opinions.

I can tell you that I’ve been the happiest with the Equalizer hitch. I switched to it 2years ago. They have been around along time. And patents keep others from coping this trued and true design. Installed correctly, following there specs and you will not be disappointed. Only product better is pro pride. That is a completely different animal and it is good butt..., must will find its expense somewhat complexing. Most wdh will perform but many are sold as a better mouse trap. So as said my two cents will be, Equilzer, if your wanting to switch.

Not familiar with the Curt model, but Curt is usually quality. We have the eaz-lift 1200. Makes a huge difference. We paid $250 for it with the anti-sway. If you're getting the WDH, definitely get it with anti-sway.

If you are happy with chains and bars then the Equalizer is the most recommended hitch. We switched from a Husjy Centerline to the Andersen and the absence of bars and levers has left us nearly ecstatic - to say nothing about not having to do all that jacking up and down. My wife can and does pull the hitch head in and out because it only weighs 45 lbs. BTW, our TT also goes ~9K lbs.

Have you looked at the Equalizer and Blue Ox - and the Andersen?

I haven't really looked at any other ones. I guess I need to. A friend of mine has the Blue Ox and likes it but it seems a little pricey
