WDH for 35' V-nose

Trailer is "on order". It is not here so I can't measure anything. 30WFKSS should have at least over 1,000 tongue weight (as per hitch instructions on ETrailer).

I liked Blue Ox, but, clamp on part allegedly will not fit. Don't want to drill holes so looking for clamp on.

Presently have Reese Straight Line I'll turn down due to drilling holes and basically don't like it. To many issues there.

What is the usable length from center of hitch ball back until you run out of room?

We have a 30' V nose toy hauler and use the equilizer hitch. They have special mounting instructions for the V nose trailers.

Remain looking

Youroo, that might just pass for concealed carry in Texas for a blind guy.

Jim, thanks also. At least I have time to shop.

Hi I have a 2015 30WIKSS bought the equalizer 4 with 1000 lb bars and max 10,000 lb trailer. The equalizer 4 system tows TT very well. No sway or waging the tail. very stable. The only thing I don't like about the system is how you have to load the weight distribution bars. You better have a good electric jack or it will be a good work out with out one.

Watch your TT tires if it comes with C load range tires. Not much room between max TT weight and max tire load. I bought a tire pressure monitoring system to keep track of the tires. sold my C tires to lawn service for $200 week after it came home.

Hope this helps Tim

Hitch rating

We have a 34.5' WJ and the dealer installed a Trekker 1,000# hitch at purchase. I had weighed the TV the day before we picked up the TT and then weighed the entire rig on the way home from picking it up. I didn't even think to check actual hitch weight until almost a year later when I still couldn't get the WDH to level out. After checking, I found that it was 75# over the 1,000# rating on the day of delivery. We changed to an Equalizer 1,400# hitch and it works very well. I still think the Trekker did a better job of sway control, but the ride is better and I can actually equalize the weight on the TV.

I have yet to hear a single complaint about the Equalizer hitch. As long as its dialed in, I really don't know why anyone would go with anything else. Except for a little noise which can be reduced with the sleeves. That's why I ordered that one now.

I have a WJ 3008W and the BlueOx SwayPro clamp on parts fit just fine. I transferred them from my old trailer with no problems. Watch the ETrailer vid on doing the install and theytell yu how far from the ball cup the clamp on rotating latch needs to be placed. there is room to spare on my trailer. it's not here with me now so I can't take a picture

Edit: I found a pic that has the clamp on latch in it.

New to this forum but not new to camping.

That being said I just installed a Blue Ox Sway Pro to try to control the TW on my Work & Play. I did a no no and didn't get a true tongue weight before hand thinking I knew what it should be. I was not able to get my truck to level out even with a 20K hitch with 2K bars. So I loaded up again yesterday with a full fresh water tank and Cat scaled it and found I have 2360 lbs of tongue weight.

So my lesson to me and others Know what you need ahead of time before buying your hitch.

That is hard to do if you don't have the RV yet and/or new to this. You have to trust the dealer knows what should be used and is going to guide you to the correct hitch. In my case, they didn't and I had to change to a heavier hitch. The WJ literature says the hitch weight was 860#, ah...cough...bull$#!*. I found it was actually 1,075# before I put a single personal item in it! Then I had to wrangle with Fun Town in Cleburne to get them to refund the cost of the original hitch; still waiting on the refund. I know, the check is in the mail...oh boy.

So i'm confused. On a Toy Hauler I know that the frames are generally beefier to support the weight of the cargo, and that there is less empty weight in the back because of the lack of furniture, but where does all the tongue weight come from? Is there some sort of ballast weight in the front?

DB, I understand I was in a similar situation in that I believed what the dealer had told me. They had even contacted the factory to verify the TW.

This is the new style 2016 W&P so there is not a lot of data on it.

V-Lite

We love our 2012 rig, but be warned you need to replace all the tires with "E" rated tires. We run ours with 80lbs of air and get a better ride. Try to get your dealer to replace them if you can and avoid blow outs. P.S. enjoy your rig, it it is sweet! Jim

We have a 3008 Windjammer which I think is the twin of your trailer and an Equalizer 12k hitch. The L brackets are mounted at the recommended distance back from the hitch ball (32" I think) with no problems. WDH works great with no sway from passing trucks on the interstate.

As others have said I would recommend changing the OEM tires at the first opportunity. The OEM tires have no load safety factor if the trailer is loaded to max GVWR.

I use the 14,000 Equalizer 4 point WDH on my V-Lite 30WRLIKS After trying 3 different type hitches this the best. My first V-lite was a disaster towing with what dealer had put on. Now I drive more relaxed and enjoy my trips. Proper mount for bars to brackets is 32 inches. Later RJD

Angry Thanks All

To be sure I covered everyone, thanks again. Late last night I started collecting measurements for mounting the frame attachment ends of several hitches. I remember one person saying he could not attach Blue Ox clamp on trunnion device due to proximity to the nose of the box (propane tank enclosure).

I don't want to be left like my last rig and I'm afraid dealer will throw something on there just to get us to leave. My Reese Dual Cam/Straightline was mounted a bit to close to the ball and has been a pain to correct.

You had to be there to see where the set up was made. I didn't know much about it then and trusted them. Not anymore!!!!!!
