Weighed truck and toy hauler

Trailer weight is 8,380 lb.
I do have 1,780 lb tongue weight,I didn't have any toy in garage this trip.
Is there any way to reduce tongue weight? Fill fresh water tank?

Put toys in the back to reduce tongue weight. If fresh water tank is aft of ty our axles, it will reduce tongue weight, but guessing tanks are located pretty close to axles.

One of the reasons I'm working on putting a 50 gallon water tank about four feet behind the rear axle. Just have to locate the right size tank. It will be used for ballast when the motorcycle is not loaded.

I think your tongue weight is: 10,600 - 9080 = 1,520 lbs

using figures when no wdh is used minus truck weight.......

x2 you have 1520# TW. Your TWR is 18%. Your trailer weighs 8380#

If on my 29HFS I were to load a 1000# motorcycle on a chock as far forward in the garage as possible, tongue weight is reduced by 154#. So, about 1154# more is on the axles. But, of course, lengths and positioning will be slightly different on your model.

When I add 450# of fresh water (my tank is nearly centered between tongue and axle pair center), tongue weight increases by 215#.

Where is your FW tank? if behind the axle pair center water would lighten the TW; if forward it will increase it. I bet it is forward.

If you have the fueling station, weight back there would also lighten the tongue.

BTW, my TW was 1260# with no water and not toys before I added 120# of batteries and #80 in solar gear... I need to reweigh.

In my case, I have about 1250# tongue weight without our bikes in the back, so I would move coolers, chairs, grill, etc. to the back to take some weight off. However, when the bikes are in it takes too much weight off and I have to put water in the fresh tank to put more weight back on the hitch.

Just curious, but were you fined for your trailer? Those docs in the images you sent seem to show a fine and court date.
If so, then what state makes you pull off at a weigh station? I will be sure to avoid such states.
But even so, what are you in violation of?

Fine and court date? I'm the original post, the 3 slips are pretty standard weight slips from a truck stop scale. Looks like he went to a Pilot in Illinois. There is no one there to fine you or even care what your actually weights are.

Or am I missing something?

On edit: I do see it says Fee: $2.00 on one; that is the cost to for a reweigh.

overweight fine

What that statement on the weigh ticket is saying, is if you get fined for weighing more than what the scale recorded you at, CAT will represent you in court to fight the fine.

Yep a certified CAT scale guarantees the weight for the truckers. You could be a million pounds over in an rv, Mr. FDOT doesn't even look twice.

You guys are all smarter then me, I bought the Wolf Pack 28wp to haul my street glide but my F-150 will barely pull it, so now I can't haul the toy without an upgrade. Learning the hard way

Moodman i do not see what you are see, and it may also explain why you may feel the way you do, you have never seen a scale sheet before? This person was smart and took his rv and truck to a scale house and had his trailer weighted and this proves the point you can not believe a word from anyone involved with the rv about weights!

Everyone should take the trailer and TV to a scale house and do the same thing this person did, it is the only way to really know what all the weights are for (your couch) I did this some time ago at the same company, so i have the sheets.

The only thing you might be looking at is (if this was a class 8 heavy haul truck) not any type of rv!

G, with your 3500 (right?) you shouldn't need more WDH... you won't even know it back there (how many times have we heard that one!)

My WDH is rated at 1,200 lb and tongue weight is 1,520 lb?
If I can keep my old WDH I will.
