Well I think it is Link #4 on the WDH

Well the results are in on the weigh in at the CAT Scales I would say I'm a little shocked it didn't move very much so thinking Link #4 is the best? Figure since not much difference between 4 and 5 putting it on #4 would be less strain and keep the hitch weight in the 15% range.

Bare SUV
Front Axle 3340lbs with 36" Wheel Well
Rear Axle 3480 with 36" Wheel Well
Trailer is 7680lbs empty

It looks l Ike 4 should work pretty good. If you get bounce in the rear of the tow vehicle you could go to 5 to limit the bounce.

My WDH instructions state to never go less than 5 links on the chains. This allows freedom of movement during tight turns and backing. Have you considered tilting the WDH head back more in order to achieve more tension?
