Nice clean look. I have to laugh when I see the stickers on Toyotas. Yes, I know its supposed to represent Toyota Racing Developement. But Americans pronounced GP as Jeep, how do we pronounce TRD? I pronounce it TuRD!

Installing brand new Kill Devil O-ringed cylinder heads. After 187k miles on stock head bolts I splurged a little on some parts including ARP studs, new stainless up-pipe, water pump, belts, hoses, seals & gaskets.
Here's a pic or two for the fellow Ford 6.0 guys.
A hoist is a must since they weigh in at 80 pounds each and I don't lift the cab, contrary to what many think has to be done.

"Fixed" my emergency brake failure.
When trying to hook up the TT at the hillside campsite, my E brake ratchet would not hold. Actually the usual ratchet sound did not occur when pressing the E brake pedal. The warning lights came on and the brake held with foot pressure applied. So the cable was good. We just had to allow for the one inch drift back when I put the transmission in park.
APPARENTLY I have not used the E brake but the once when hooking up to go camping this time since I added a performance chip. The E brake release handle was jamming on the chip housing box! So I just had to pull the handle down, it went forward under the spring pressure and works as designed ;(
I'll probably pull the chip as I have not noticed any positives with using it. Just this one negative!

Put the sides on my fabric "garage". I got a 10x20" unit the club wanted rid of. A few bent poles but it works. I changed out a lot of the loose bungee ball fasteners with tie wraps. Prep for winter.
While doing the above partly after sundown due to other commitments, I apparently ran my battery down as I found out this AM. Checked, it's just under 6 years old. I'll be keeping an eye on it and my charger/starter in a handier location. It's a Motorcraft factory replacement, probably replace with the same.

Has anyone changed out the stock air filter for a K&N or similar filter? If so was it worth the purchase?

Over the life it will save you on replacement filters. With the mass air flow sensors in newer vehicles lightly oil it or get an oil less filter. Unless you get a full cold air kit the hp gain will be very little.

X2. Don't get these filters thinking about MPG or HP gains. Not enough to notice, if any. My K&N is 11 years old and I just clean once or twice a year. For my initial $50 investment, I'm happy
Now I'm sure the K&N haters will chime in, but take it with a grain a salt . The filters are fine.

Until your engine gets dusted. If you really think they are fine, start regularly start sending in your oil to get sampled to see if silica levels start increasing.
Super poor way of trying to save very little money.
