Installed some new Super Nova V3 headlights enough of the amazon junk and bought some quaility lights. Also put on a 22inch light bar for those late night pulls.

On a news report the other night they showed how a tire worn to the old recommended "Lincon's head on a penney" failed to stop in a safe distance on a wet test track while a tire weth enough tread to just hide "Washington's head" on a nickel stopped in a greatly reduced distance.

Squeezing the last miles out of a set of tires to save $$ could well end up costing a lot more than just money.

Last week the TV got two treats. The broken fiberglass bumper cover came off, and the steel was painted black to match trim.
And she got her annual bath. Looked so good after the wash, I hit her with Maguire waterless wash wax and rain xed the windshield.
The next day a member of my church asked, "Pastor, did you get a new truck?"
Ha, no. Washed it. Same old '04 Ram 1500. But looks good now.
Today I replaced the gas tank straps too.
Ready for vacation next week.

I replaced the 26 gallon fuel tank of my 14 F150 for a 36 gallon fuel tank. It was a direct bolt on. Very easy to do.

This weekend I did what many will cringe about. Took my eye off the front of the 5th wheel in a tight turn around, and popped my rear window. The window is replaced, but making sure that doesn't happen again still needs to be addressed. I used the Reese Revolution hook up in my previous 5th wheel. That let the trailer clear the cab easy enough, at the expense of dragging the tires a bit in tight turns. And it seemed different backing up. This 5th wheel also has a Reese Revolution, but I haven't activated it yet because I wanted to feel the towing and backing difference. Since the trailer has the cab clearance issue available by moving the wedge, and a slider hitch is an additional expense... I am only wondering if the slider hitches also see issues with tires and axles on excessive drag during a tight turn?

About 3 weeks ago my trailer breaks service warming kept coming on so I took it to he dealer since I wasn’t hooked to the camper. They replaced a relay and it’s all good now. Just got back from a 1200 mile trip to Smoky Mountains and KY lake. Truck pulled our 7000 pound 2618vs very well. I have a 6.0 l Chevy. I have considered diesel, but for the cost of the truck and fuel I can’t justify it. I got an average of 8.8 mpg for the entire trip. Not too shabby. If I had a heavier trailer or fifth wheel I would go to diesel but for now gas is fine.

So I guess I am getting old. I finally put steps on my truck. The drivers seat was starting to get worn out from sliding in and out. I actually don't think it looks bad it is growing on me. Next is a new seat cushion then I am done for awhile.

Haven't updated since May 28th, have done a lot since then. New Toyo ATII's in 255/80-17 to fill out the fender wells a little better on the dually. Air Lift 5000 Ultimate with Wireless One compressor system installed. Washed and put a coat of Hydro Silex on her. Oil change, air filter change, fuel filter change yesterday. Oh and ordered a Nav update from the A7 to the A9 version. I think that catches everything up. Leaving for a week at Fort Wilderness this Thursday staying thursday night at Atlanta South RV resort.

I changed the oil and filter, greased the tie rod ends and topped up the fluids. I also set the tire pressures and rotated the tires. Heading to Campton, NH Friday evening to spend the weekend at Branch Brook Campground.

Just before the last trip I added power fold tow mirrors to the F150...a great addition that proved it's worth during the 4,100 mile trip.

I had previously added an observation camera on the trailer, but rarely used the camera after adding the mirrors.

Changed the oil and filter this weekend and I'm glad i did. Since moving to MN, i let the oil change places change my oil one time each year, usually in Jan. This year they got another crack at it because we got a foot of snow in April. When i changed the oil this weekend, the filter I took off was 1/3 the size of the filter i bought to put on. I even went inside the house and double checked to make sure i bought the right filter.
