What is pin called? Needs replaced

I'm looking to find out the name of this pin that prevents the sway bar from slipping out. The pin is broken and needs replaced.

Looks like a cotterless hitch pin.

Is there a specific make/model of hitch it goes to? Maybe a the owners manual has a part # or can you give us a diameter and length needed?

It's a quick release pin (or hitch pin). You'll just need to find one with the same dimensions. There are thousands of them.

One of these?

Some here.

More here.

A whole bunch more here.

All of these are national chains, probably a store near you. Take yours with you to match the size.

Those pins are hollow that have the ball at the end & a spring loaded plunger! If it actually broke I would be looking for a solid pin of the same diameter & has a some sort of pin at the bottom to prevent it from coming out! I bet you could get one from one of those U-haul places! or a tooling cat. like McMaster Carr. They are called Loop-Grip Clevis Pins & you pick the one you need from their chart!

It's called a detent pin.

Ditto on Tractor Supply or any well stocked farm supply or hardware store. The diameter and length are what matters. The clevis pin retainer is actually more secure than the detent style, and most tractor hitch pins have that nice big D handle to make them easy to install and remove.

Getting a pretty chrome one might be a challenge, but that's not a problem a little coating of grease can't fix. I had a farm for 20 years. These don't rust much if at all, because the bearing surfaces are constantly buffed by the mechanisms they are holding in place.
