We use a 2008 F350 dually diesel to pull our 2013 Cedar Creek Touring Edition. We had a 2007 Cardinal 3QS before this trailer. I notice that the F350 sits a little lower with the Cedar Creek than it did with the Cardinal. I weighed the truck and trailer and the pin weight is about 3000 pounds, which is too heavy for a F250 SRW. We originally had the F250 and it was only rated for 1900 pounds cargo weight. The F350 is rated 4400 pounds cargo weight, which can easily handle the pin weight of 3000 pounds.

Ok here's where I'm gonna get a lot of feed back - that I may not like. But I asked for it! We bought a 2013, 2500 GMC, SRW, Duramax/Allison. Good so far right? I checked the weights, based on the mfg's charts, that it can tow. We'd like to get a 2013, 36CKTS. If any of you tow with SRW, please let me know your thoughts and cautions or experiences.

A 2013 GMC 2500HD SRW .... Assuming 4WD, Crew Cab Long Box... it is rated at 3305 Cargo and 14,700 5th wheel towing.
You're looking at 3000lbs pin weight and close to 16,000lbs of loaded 36CKTS. Can you tow it, sure you can. Is it safe and should you tow with a 3/4 ton SRW...
I think not. I towed with a F250 CC SB and after 5000 miles of rough ride and dismal fuel economy, traded it in. I would never tow at these weights with a SRW 3/4 ton again. However, lots of folks do it.

Gosh is that a slam? Really, seriously. I was at one time, an automotive engineer at the EPA. Had to leave tho, cause the weird science was getting to me.
By the way, has anyone actually testing the stopping performance of some of these big rigs, that would be interesting. Wonder how they compare to a loaded 18 wheeler.

HEy AND you can get the 2013 Ram 2500 HD Diesel and it is rated for 18,350 towing and 25,000 combined. That should do it for you with a single whell and be "legal"

Would love to see some braking data on rv tt's & 5er's. Don't believe I've ever seen or heard of any tests being made by anyone. Would be interesting to say the least.

I don't have any actual test results but Kodiak disc brakes do improve stopping, a lot. MorRyde advertises a 45% improvement in braking, don't know what this means other than the Creek & Truck stop right now when some child steps into your path. That is speaking from personal experience.
Comparing a loaded 5er to an 18 wheeler's braking is like comparing a Piper Cub to a Boeing 747. Not even in the same class.
